La Tomatina is a festival held on the last Wednesday of August at Buñol, Valencia, Spain (The Tomato fight has been a strong tradition since 1944/1945).
Thousands of people from all over the world descend upon the small town of Buñol to take part in this week-long festival. Although most come for the tomato fight, La Tomatina also presents music, parades, dancing and fireworks during the week’s celebrations.
On the night before the tomato fight, participants of the festival compete in a paella cooking contest.

Bunol is a town and municipality in the province of Valencia, Spain and is situated approximately 38 km west of the provincial and autonomous community capital city, Valencia.
