Sant Jordi Hostels will be participating for the third edition of 48H Open House Barcelona, an initiative designed to showcase outstanding architecture in a free, open and inviting fashion. Taking place on the 27th and 28th of October, 2012 two of our Barcelona hostels will be open to the public in a celebration of the appreciation of good architecture and urbanism.

Why Sant Jordi Hostels
Sant Jorid Hostels Barcelona is proud to be participating in the 2012 48H Open House Barcelona. Our invitation to join the event is a testament to the quality of design and facilities of our Barcelona hostels.
Over the past 2 years Sant Jordi Hostels has been working hard to plan, design and open new hostels in Barcelona that both provide high quality hostel-style accommodation and at the same time reflect different aspects of the unique Barcelona urban environment. The goal of Sant Jordi Hostels is to create a youth hostel environment that has high quality facilities, offers outstanding services and emits a special aura that is representative of modern Barcelona urbanism and style.
Which Sant Jordi Hostels are Participating
Two Sant Jordi Barcelona Hostels will be participating in the 2012 48H Open House Barcelona: Sant Jordi Hostel Gracia and Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia.
Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia was newly opened in April of 2011 and was designed to celebrate the popularity of Barcelona among the world’s skateboarding community. Barcelona has come to be recognized as one of the best cities worldwide for skateboarding and is a popular skateboarding tourism destination. It may sound funny – skateboarding tourism – but thousands of people come to Barcelona yearly to enjoy Barcelona’s unique urban architecture that often seems to be custom designed for skateboarders. Barcelona is regularly featured in skateboarding magazines, videos and product advertisements.
Sant Jordi Hostel Gracia celebrated its grand opening in April, 2012. A designer hostel with modern, high quality facilities, located in the artistically and culturally rich Gracia neighborhood, it was designed to reflect the urban hipster and fixed-gear bicycle movement that has become a popular phenomenon in Barcelona and other urban settings around the world. Barcelona is famous for its artistic heritage and has become one of the world leaders in design. Being located in the Gracia neighborhood, where Barcelona’s creativity and design have their heart and soul, it was crucial that Sant Jordi Hostel Gracia reflect this particularly Barcelona cultural identity.
