Barcelona is famous for its street festivals, which are known as “festes majors” in Spanish. These festivals are held throughout the year, but most prominent during the summer. These are the most authentic festivals in town and completely free to attend.
Festa Major del Raval
For three days in the middle of July the Raval neighborhood celebrates its grand fiesta. The festival features live music, street performances, and cultural events, as well as food and drink stalls. The festival is known for its lively atmosphere and is a great way to experience the local culture of Barcelona. The Raval is a vibrant neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is known for its multicultural community and is home to many immigrants from around the world. The Raval is also famous for its street art and graffiti, which can be seen throughout the neighborhood. Festa Major de Poble Sec
The Festa Major de Poble Sec is a street festival that takes place in the Poble Sec neighborhood of Barcelona in mid July. The festival is filled with hipsters and barflies. Everyone gathers on Paral-lel street as well as the entire length of the legendary Carrer Blai to sip cervezas (beers) and mojitos and listen to local bands and DJs. Poble Sec is a neighborhood in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona. The neighborhood is located at the foot of Montjuïc hill. Poble Sec is also home to several cultural attractions, including the El Molino theater, which is famous for its cabaret shows, and the Joan Miró Foundation, which houses a collection of works by the famous Catalan artist. The neighborhood is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

Festa de Sant Roc
This is the oldest street festival in Barcelona. This traditional festival takes place in many towns and villages across Catalonia. In Barcelona, the festival is held in honor of Saint Roch, the patron saints of dogs. A lot of the traditions are still kept up, like the ‘gegants’ (giants), street games,
sardana dances, and ‘correfoc’, unique traditions that entertain travelers.One of the highlights of the street festival is the correfoc, a fire run where participants dress up as devils and run through the streets waving sparklers and setting off fireworks.
