A free concert on the street right in front of your hostel with ‘Miles Kane’ as headlining act – only in Barcelona and only at Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia.
The 2013 BAM (Barcelona Accio Musical) organized, Estrella Damm sponsored Free Concert / Street Party at the Antiga Fabrica Damm in Barcelona is literally right in front of our Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia. Attracting as many as 30,000 people this is a full-blown concert venue in Street Party format but for free and just across the street from on of our Barcelona Hostels.
When: Saturday the 21st of September, 2013 starting at 6:30 pm.

Ever since 2008 the Barcelona Brewery, Estrella Damm and BAM (Barcelona Accio Musical) have teamed up to present a street festival style, free, open-air, live concert with famous bands in front of their old brewery in the l’Eixample district of Barcelona. Previous years have seen more than 15,000 people fill the streets in front of the old Estrella Damm brewery to watch headliners like ‘Mando Diao’, ‘Belle and Sebastian’ and ‘Ok Go’. This year will be even better.
If you like British Indie Rock and particularly ‘Miles Kane’ this is a concert not to be missed.
Estrella Damm’s La Merce 2012 Free Concert Line-up
This year’s line-up features everything from British Indie Rock to local Catalan favorites. On the night of the 21st of September, 2013, at 18:30 the opens with ‘The Free Fall Band‘ – a local group from Barcelona with a cool and fun pop, instrumental sound and thoughtful lyrics (in English).
At 20:00 ‘El Petit de Cal Eril’ will take the stage. ‘El Petit de Cal Eril’, is a solo performer from Catalonia with a raw acoustic sound and honest Spanish Lyrics. Soul-full and intense is the best way to describe his musical style.
Taking the stage at 21:30, the headlining act, ‘Miles Kane’ the former front man of such bands as ‘Last Shadow Puppets’, ‘The Rascals’ and ‘The Little Flames’ is a star of the British Indie Rock scene. He is almost guaranteed to put on an amazing show.

Literally across the street from the concert is our skateboard inspired Barcelona hostel, Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia. Not only does our Sant Jordi Hostel Sagrada Familia provide amazing accommodation right next to the action, it is at an affordable price. Also, less than a 10 minute walk from the hostel and the Estrella Damm factory where the free concert will be held, is the famous Sagrada Familia cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudi – one of the most visited sites in all of Barcelona.
How to get there:
Take Metro Line 5 (Blue) to the Sant Pau/Dos de Maig stop. After exiting the station walk down-hill on either c/ Dos de Maig or c/ de Cartegena (depending on which exit you use). Either way you will cross c/ Rosello. The whole city block between c/ Dos de Maig and c/ de Cartegena just above c/ Rosello is the Estrella Damm beer factory. It is a huge yellow building with a large tower that has a big lit-up yellow star on top. It will be very hard to miss.
