Barcelona Bike Week – 2012
The Barcelona Bike Week is a city wide celebration of the joy of riding bikes in Barcelona. Held from June 13th – 17th, 2012 Barcelona Bike Week should be a fun and interesting event for locals and tourists alike.
The main event area will be around the Arc de Triumf and the bottom of Passeig de Sant Joan. There is a full list of events including bike expos, a used bike market, training courses, a bike inspection station, a large group bike ride through the city and much more. Even if you don’t live in Barcelona the Barcelona Bike week is worth checking out and will be a lot of fun – rent a bike and join the group bike ride through the city, cruise through the Arc de Triumf area and see the bike expo and used bike market, go to the park del Forum and watch the bike show.
Barcelona is a very biker friendly city and Biking Barcelona is an excellent way to experience Barcelona and see all the amazing sites. There is a beautiful boardwalk – perfect for a mellow bike ride – that runs for several kilometers along the beach and the city is crisscrossed with bike lanes and low traffic streets perfect for mellow worry free bike rides.
Schedule of Event for the 2012 Barcelona Bike Week
The best events scheduled for the 2012 Barcelona Bike Week are the Bicycle Night Ride on Saturday the 16th of June at 9:00 pm, the city group bike tour on Sunday, June 17th at 10:00 am and the Bike Show at the Park del Forum on Sunday the 17th of June from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
For the Barcelona Bike Week Night Ride, come with a bike and join the group on a nighttime bike ride through the city. The Night Ride meeting point is at the bottom of Passeig de Sant Joan in the Arc de Triumf area.
To participate in the Barcelona Bike Week group bike tour of the city, bring a bike and meet on c/ Arago between Passeig de Gracia and c/ Balmes. For this event you can go by bike, skates, or just walking if you want. There should be a big crowd and it will definitely be a lot of fun.
The Barcelona Bike Show on Sunday the 17th will be held in the Forum event area. This will be the big grand finally of the Weeklong event. There will be a whole array of events related to all thing bicycle and skate. Come with a bike, skates or skateboard of your own and join in the fun. There will be several staged sporting events with some of the big names in the world of cycling and skating showing off their skills and performing stunts and tricks. You can also take some time to check out the large fair area that will include booths and displays of the major bike brands from around the world presenting their latest urban bike gear and other bike and skate related equipment.
