The Party
Now, Barcelona knows how to party. Oh, does it know how to party… But the parties don’t usually get started until 1am, and last until sunrise. Brunch came to the table with a different concept – for the sunshine lover. An epic daytime party with the best music, food, fashion, atmosphere and people. The season totals 12 events from July 2nd – September 17th. Glitter: Optional, but encouraged.
Music
This family friendly, daytime party showcases an incredible amount of famous international electronic DJs. If you like good music, you will love this event. The sets do not disappoint. It starts from 1pm and finishes at 10pm, with around 5 artists each playing a 2-hour set. Over the past few years they’ve had some big names. This year’s line-up includes artists such as; Claptone, dOP, Eli & Fur, Catz’N Dogz, Fairmont, Fur Coat, Coyu, Claude VonStroke, Louisahhh b2b Maelstrom, Joris Delacroix, Neverdogs, Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, Tiga, Agoria, Frankey & Sandrino, Gui Boratto, Workals, Edu Imbernon, Adriatque, Hot Since 82, Dubfire, M.A.N.D.Y., Paco Osuna and many more.
Food, Markets and Petit Brunch
Another strength for Brunch is its emphasis on creating a family friendly environment, where it offers a range of fun activities for kids with Petit Brunch. This really differs from other Barcelona events. Music loving parents rejoice! They’ve even set up picnic tables where you can sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere together. Brunch also serves up a quality menu, with a range of delicious food trucks operated by local vendors. They encourage fresh and organic cuisine with 0km food miles. These Instagram worthy dishes will ensure you can sustain a full day of dancing in the summer heat. Continuing with local vendors, there is a range of trendy market stalls from local designers and vintage merchants to peruse.
Ecological
Brunch retains a strong focus on being an environmentally aware event. They have even reduced waste generation by around 80% with their eco cups concept. When buying your first drink, you pay a deposit for the plastic cup. Each drink after that they swap said cup for a fresh one, then at the end of the day you can cash it back in, or keep it as a souvenir. Caring about the environment is cool; we are all about this.
The After Party
This is a no pass–out event, meaning if you leave you will have to pay to re-enter. Seriously, you won’t want to leave until you have to anyway. After each Brunch in the Park there is an official after party called Bonus Track, where you can continue the party until the early hours.
Location
Brunch in the Park is held at Montjuïc – Jardines de Joan Brossa. It’s close to the city, but in a park surrounded by gardens and greenery. It’s easy to get find, with a few different options of arrival:
Metro – Take the metro to Parallel (Green line 3 and Purple line 2). Stay inside the metro and follow the signs to the funicular. The cable car leaves every 5 minutes, straight up the mountain, at no extra cost. Then it’s just a 5-minute walk to the entrance. If you prefer some exercise, you can walk up the mountain from Parallel in about 25 minutes.
Bus – You can catch lines 55, 150 or a touristic bus.
Aeri del Port – If you want to see some beautiful Ariel views, you can take the cable car attraction from the port all the way to Montjuïc. Then it’s about a 10 minute walk to the park.
