Can you really visit Barcelona without going to a FC Barcelona match? Even if you are not a soccer, excuse me, football fan, I highly recommend going! I for one had never watched a single soccer game before attending the Barca game. I was highly impressed! We bought the cheapest tickets, but we still had a great view. It is the crowd that makes the experience. The Camp Nou stadium is extremely nice and holds nearly 100,000 people. Believe it or not, the stadium was practically full on a Tuesday night!

Depending on which match you attend, the tickets can get pretty pricey. If scrambling through the internet isn’t what you want to spend your time doing, just head to reception while staying at one of the Sant Jordi Hostels in Barcelona. Yes, we sell tickets to the games.
So the game itself; it can get pretty intense on the field and you will hear cheering the entire time! These are some of the most engaged fans I have ever seen. The crowd goes WILD when something big happens. Everyone get up on their feet and starts screaming and whistling. There are chants that are repeated throughout the game and hearing the fans in harmony is something absolutely amazing. It is really easy to get into what is happening on the field for the mere fact that everyone around you is so into it.
With the time it takes to get to the FC Barcelona stadium, sit through the match, and get back home, you are bound to get hungry. Camp Nou stadium has concession stands just like any other stadium but. One really cool thing about a FC Barcelona Game is that you can bring food into the stadium! If you come with a bottled drink, you can take it with you as well but they will take the caps. If you do decide to stop at one of the concession stands, make sure you don’t go during half-time. The lines get extremely long and you may end up missing part of the second half.
How to get to the FC Barcelona Stadium
The best way to get to the Barcelona stadium is by metro. If you are coming from Rock Palace hostel in Barcelona then take the L5 (blue line) to Badal and then it is about an 8 minute walk. The best part is that the walk is a straight shot! With all the other fans going, you cannot miss it. Taking a taxi is definitely an option as well but the difficulty comes with all the traffic due to the fans walking there, they cannot get very close to the stadium. You will spend a lot of money just sitting in the taxi when it would be more efficient to walk. With the beautiful weather Barcelona has year round, the walk isn’t so bad.
