La Champagneria Bar in Barcelona
La Champagneria is a tiny hide-away (something of a local secret) bar in Barcelona, hidden amongst the eclectic shops on Carrer de Reina Christina. It’s standing room only, so expect to meet new friends – locals, students, tourists and barcelona backpackers. It has a very traditional vibe and is always packed full – you literally have to push your way in. Don’t be intimidated, the crowd is what makes the bar so damn cool. People standing around talking, with bacadillo or tapas in one hand, glass of cava in the other, holding everything high in the air to avoid spilling it as others push their way through.
The place gets going in the early evening at around 17:30 and doesn’t stop until 22:30 in this small bar sampling typical tappas and bocadillos and drinking cava (spanish champagne) and beer.
The La Champagneria bar is located near the Barceloneta Beach/metro and it’s on Calle Reina Christina.
